There are several reasons that this trick may come in handy.
- You accidentally have the [Caps Lock] turned on.
- You decide that you want the selected text to be a title (School Assignment)
- You want all the text returned to lower case.
- etc.
As in all Microsoft offerings, there is never only 1 way to do anything.
- [Shift] + [F3] is the key combination.
- In Office 2003, use Tools > Change Case
- In Office 2007 a button has been added to the HOME Tab.
See the image above to see how it works:
First you select some text.
Next you press [Shift] + [F3], The text turns into title text where each word is capitalized.
Press [Shift] + [F3] again, and the text turns into all capital letters.
If you don't like this, use the Tools Menu (Office 2003) or the Home Tab (Office 2007)
and you can choose even more options (again, see inset window in the illustration above).
